Comedy Festival Rev-up!

I'm getting very excited about the 2011 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. It's practically 'round the corner! So, of course, Kieran and I have been working industriously on the script and ironing out any wrinkles. Well, when we're not too busy working, getting sick, surfing the internet, reading, watching t.v, catching up with friends, watching comedy, performing 5 minute spots in rubbish pubs, eating rubbish food, playing video games, going to the movies, going food shopping, paying bills and rent, cleaning up and living life. Not to mention maintaining a happy relationship. Hopefully.

Kieran and I are the biggest procrastinators, he'll back me up when he can be bothered to add a post of his own. Whilst we do find time to work on comedy, it is true that it's a balancing act. It's a real challenge to work on comedy with my boyfriend as, now that we're working together, there really aren't too many aspects of my life I have to myself. I keep reading and trying to develop my own material for after the festival.

Blah, enough wank! You don't need to read about my poignant struggles with art and life. You can read those nauseating posts on people's Facebook about the trials and tribulations concerning parenthood: "Little Oscar rolled over today! Mummy is still a bit shocked! Thought he'd fall over but didn't LOL! Hubby laffed @ me soooo much! Oscar is soo cutie!" Please forgive my grammar there, I was paraphrasing! One of the worst posts I ever read was of a woman who had just started breastfeeding. She wrote: "Needed to use breast pump to start me off with expressing the milk, ouch!" Then this supposed 'friend' of hers commented underneath: "Call me next time and I'll 'start you off'!" It was then I vowed never to put too much of my personal life on the internet. Oh, also when I saw a picture of myself in denim leggings but had to look closely to check if they were leggings or just jeans stretched to capacity!

Anyway, that's me for now,

Laura
